Vintage Sherwoods Brass Duplex Oil Lamp with Glass Chimney

Attractive vintage Sherwoods brass oil lamp featuring a duplex (double wick) burner and clear glass chimney. The lamp has a classic traditional design with a brass-finished metal font and pedestal base, making it an excellent decorative piece for a period home, collection, or display.

Fitted with an original SHS (Sherwoods) duplex twin-wick burner marked "Made in England". Complete with glass chimney and brass font. A genuine early 20th-century British oil lamp, dating approximately from the 1900–1930 period

Condition:

VERY Good vintage condition with age-related wear, marks, and patina consistent with use and age. The glass chimney is mint and  free from  cracks or chips. The burner mechanism turns, though I have not fully tested the lamp with fuel.

As you can see in the photos there some tarnishing on the bottom part of the base. I was going to polish this up and make it look new but obviously, this would detract from its great age. I personally think it looks great as it is but if you needed it pristine it'll take you about 5 minutes with some polish to get it sparkling again!
