About Save The Robot

Save The Robot is a small independent UK business with a simple idea: find interesting things and connect them with people who will appreciate them.

The story actually begins long before the business.

As a student, I spent a summer in New York City and discovered an underground after-hours club in the East Village called Save the Robots. It was an unusual place with an unforgettable name — and that name stayed with me.

Many years later, after working in technology marketing in London and San Francisco, I established my own web agency. One of my clients was an online seller, and seeing how the business worked made me wonder whether I could do something similar myself.

I'd always had an interest in designer clothing, vintage pieces, antiques and unusual curiosities, so I started small: finding a few things I genuinely liked and offering them for sale on eBay.

Save The Robot was born.

From a few listings to 30,000+ sales

What started as a small experiment gradually became a business. More than 15 years later, we've completed over 30,000 sales, with more than 12,000 positive customer reviews.

We've grown considerably since those first few listings, but the basic idea hasn't really changed.

We don't want Save The Robot to feel like a warehouse full of identical products. Our stock is deliberately eclectic and constantly changing. You'll find new and current designer clothing alongside vintage fashion, footwear, collectables, antiques, homeware and occasionally something that doesn't fit neatly into any category at all.

If we think it's interesting, unusual or deserves another home, we're interested.

Individual items, individually handled

Most of what we sell is genuinely individual. We very rarely have more than one of a particular item, so almost everything you see has its own listing.

Items are individually photographed and described, with measurements taken where appropriate. Unless clearly stated otherwise, the item shown in the photographs is the actual item you'll receive.

For vintage, pre-owned and unusual pieces in particular, we think that's important. We'd rather show you what you're actually buying than rely on generic photographs and descriptions.

Our customers matter

As a small independent business, our reputation depends on every transaction.

We know there are plenty of places you could choose to shop. Our job is to make sure you're happy with what you buy, happy with the service you receive and, hopefully, interested enough to come back and see what we've found next.

Repeat customers have helped build Save The Robot into what it is today, and we never take that business for granted.

After more than 15 years, we're still finding things, photographing them one at a time and wondering who will discover them next.

Welcome to Save The Robot.
