Vintage Rotary Phone Telephone Dawn BT Original 1981 - Tested Fully Working

We sell and refurbish loads of old phones and this model is one of my favorites.

The phone in the photos is the one that you'll recieve. It's the 'Dawn' and was made in 1981 by Northern Telecom (it was originally released in the USA a few years earlier) - repurchased by BT for British phone lines.

It comes in cream but what obviously makes this special is the shape. It's a really copls design - sort if a melted/flattened version of the more square models we usually get - it looks amazing. Even better is that we've tested it and it still works perfectly on modern British land lines! It's a shame we don't make objects like this any more. Just cheap, imported, disposable junk with no soul. Thos is a perfect blend of usable art and superior design from a bygone era...they really could be preserved.

The condition is generally very good. All parts are present and work exactly as they should. The bell is loud and clear (it's an actual steel bell, not one of those nasty little speakers). No cracks,  no scuffs. As with all cream coloured plastic that's over 45 years old it naturahas become slighly yellowed/discolored. I'll leave it as it is because it shows the age of the phone but if you want it looking new just rub some bleach on it (2 min job)
