We're a professional business seller on here and have sold thousands of vintage bags over the years but we've never had a Python Skin bag from the 1960's in such good condition - an exceptionally rare piece!

The bag in the photos is the one that you will receive. As you can see it's in outstanding condition. It was made in England but I suspect the Python came from Burma (now Myanmar) where they were caught in the wild. Even then it would have been a very, very expensive item and only the wealthiest or the aristocracy could have afforded something like this. Its unlikely that you'll ever see one in this design again elsewhere

Details

When you look closely you can see the attention to detail that went into designing and producing this - you can see that the careful hand stitching has stood the test of time. Even the gold shoulder chain has a stunning design to it - can be tucked inside so you can use this as a shoulder bag or evening clutch. The inside is suede lined, very clean and has a number of sections. Because of its unusual height you can carry a modern/large phone in it, your purse and there will still be space for lipstick, perfume etc. Please check pics for exact sizing

Condition

As mentioned, it's in excellent condition. Something like this will only have ever been used for the most special of special occasions - one can picture Marilyn, Sophia or Audrey being photographed outside a film premiere with one of these! Subsequently, it wasn't used much and always stored carefully. It's not brand new as all snakeskin naturally gets a worn patina over time but there are no missing scales, no holes or tears, no loose stitching and the suede inside is in remarkable condition. It's not brand new but about as good as you'll ever see for a snakeskin bag which is well over half a century old.
