Vintage Hi-Mound BK-100 “Coffin Bug” Semi-Automatic Morse Code Telegraph Key
Original vintage Hi-Mound BK-100 semi-automatic Morse code key, commonly known as the “Coffin Bug”.
Complete with its original clear plastic cover and original Hi-Mound Telegraph Key cardboard box - the machine in the photos is the one that you'll receive
The key itself is in good cosmetic condition for its age, although it is being sold as requiring attention/restoration and has not been tested electrically.
Please note the following condition points:
The clear plastic cover is cracked/damaged as shown in the photographs. The cover is complete, but the damaged sections need carefully guiding back into position when fitting it over the key. I have deliberately left this as found rather than attempting to glue or repair the original plastic.
There is also a crack in the lever/paddle assembly, clearly shown in the close-up photographs. This will require attention/repair. I have not attempted to repair this.
The original cardboard box has age-related wear, creasing and damage but remains a nice addition to the set.
Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description. Sold as a vintage collectible requiring some repair/restoration.
