Incredibly rare opportunity to own a genuine piece of golfing history. Please read the description all the way to the end so you know exactly what you'll get

I'm a professional business seller on here but live very close to Royal Birkdale Golf Course (if you're not aware it's one of the venues used for the British Open). I know quite a few members and regularly visit the clubhouse - even though I'm not a player.

This set of clubs (incomplete) with the original leather case was found under a pile of tarpaulin at the back of a storage room. We can't be absolutely certain but we think it has been there since the 40's...a very old and exceptionally rare set.

As mentioned, it's not complete. There are 7 clubs included (details below) but the real prize is the case - almost none of these remain on the planet and a really good condition ones like this is easily worth £130 alone. The clubs are worth between £30 - £80 each.

As mentioned I'm not a player and Golf Clubs aren't really my specialty...so ive put this set up at a ridiculously low price. Someone out there is going to get a serious bargain!

Condition

This is the best part! Even though the clubs are almost a century old they were kept safe under the tarpaulin so remain in excellent condition - good enough to play with if you're mad enough to want to actually use such an old set! They were made just as metal shafts were replacing wooden ones so made of stainless steel. Over the decades a few surface rust spots have appeared but nothing that won't brush off with some wire wool. There are no dents or bends in the metal or chips in the wood. The case is close to mint condition. There are no rips or loose stitching. No discoloration or wear. No missing parts. Unbelievable that it still looks so good!

Overall, this is an exceptionally rare set which is good enough to use but for something this good I suspect it will end up as part of a collection or used as a display puece in a clubhouse.
