Here's a very rare and unusual opportunity to own a magnificent matching pair of HUGE vintage gold glass pinecone finials, each standing an incredible 84 cm (33 inches) tall!

These are genuinely impressive decorative pieces, believed to date from the 1980s or early 1990s, judging by their design, styling and construction.

We occasionally come across interesting vintage decorative ornaments, but it's not often we find anything quite like these! Their enormous proportions, beautiful antiqued gold finish and distinctive pinecone design make them wonderful statement pieces.

Nb - I've included the photos with the plants and a coke can to give you an idea of how big these really are. When pricing them up it was almost impossible to find anything similar as so few glass examples remain after all these decades. The price reflects both the condition and Rarity of the pieces - you won't find another pair of these in such good condition anywhere else!

What makes these particularly interesting is their unusual construction and finish.

They're made from thick, substantial, green-tinted glass, covered with a beautiful metallic gold finish. The glass appears largely opaque, but the wonderfully mottled, spotted finish allows light to pass through in places, creating an attractive and unusual translucent effect.

The gold has a lovely antique appearance, with irregular speckling and colour variations that give each piece tremendous character.

These would look absolutely stunning in the right setting!

At 84 cm tall, they're probably too large for most ordinary mantelpieces, but imagine them displayed in a spacious living room, a grand entrance hall, a hotel lobby or a stylish restaurant.

They would look particularly magnificent displayed together beside a large fireplace, at a safe distance from the heat. The flickering light from the flames could dance through the translucent areas of the glass, creating a beautiful decorative effect.

We believe these pieces probably date from the 1980s or early 1990s in the UK, based on their design, construction and decorative finish.

The metallic gold finish has a distinctive antiqued appearance, with irregular spotting that allows the underlying glass to catch and transmit light.

It's a lovely decorative effect and an important part of the character of these unusual pieces.
