The microscope and all additional accessories in the photos is the set that you'll recieve.

Product Overview

For sale is a beautiful, mid-20th-century vintage monocular laboratory microscope manufactured by the prestigious British instrument makers Cooke, Troughton & Simms (York, England). Serial number M102907. This is a complete, historically intact kit that is fully functional and ready for display or use.

Condition & Functionality

The microscope was dusty when we purchased it. I've given it a basic clean for the photos so it looks presentable but to get it back to mint condition you may what to give it a deeper clean and tidy up some of the components. It works fine as it is but I've included a number of lens cleaning tissues to keep you going for a while.

  • Mechanical: Excellent. The coarse and fine focusing knobs move smoothly without sticking. The mechanical stage clips and components function perfectly.

  • Optics: Fully tested and working. The light pathway is clear.

  • Illumination: Traditional adjustable mirror system (no electrical cords required), in great reflective condition.

What is Included:

  • The Microscope: CTS Monocular Stand with a 3-objective nosepiece.

  • Lenses: Features three objective lenses: x10, x40, and a high-power x95 oil immersion lens.

  • Accessories: Comes with an extra lens insert, a full vintage box of glass cover slips, and a few unused glass slides to get you started.

  • Original Wooden Case: Includes the internal sliding wooden tray with original vintage accessory bottles. (Please note: The lock is currently not working and detached (its inside the box) and the key is missing, which is typical for its age. I've put a blob of blue tak which keeps it shut - otherwise it sticks slightly ajar - but you may need a different lock if you want to seal it fully.

This is a fantastic piece of British scientific history, perfect for collectors, medical historians, or vintage science enthusiasts.

Shipping & Packaging

The microscope will be securely packed inside its wooden case, with plenty of external protective wrapping to ensure it arrives safely.
