The document case in the photos is the one that you'll recieve. As you can see it's in outstanding condition

It was made in the 1940's by Cheney, England. If you haven't heard of Cheney before its worth looking them up. They have been one of the top three men's shoe manufacturers in the world for well over a century and are still going strong (a typical pair of handmade Cheney shoes costs well over £300). They're still based in Northampton, England where they have two workshops.

During WWII, like many British industries, Cheney produced many items for the war effort - they made cases, trunks, boots (for Officers only!)....and this document case! I'm 99.99% certain this case would have been used to transport important/secret war documents. It's too high quality for standard paperwork and something like this would only have been used by an Officer - and they'd only let Officers hand deliver something if it was important!

The case is in immaculate condition. Obviously, a very high quality piece when made they used the finest leather sonits stood the test of time. Even though its over Eighty years old it will easily last another Eighty if you look after it.

What makes this really stand out is the colour. Over the decades the leather has naturally developed a gorgeous patina - its absolutely stunning. Much better in real life than in the photos.

One negative is that the key has been lost to the sands of time. To be honest the lock is more symbolic than practical. If it was locked you could literally open it with a teaspoon!

Other than that no issues. Overall, its a quirky little item that could still be used today to carry a laptop (please see pics for dimensions). Not many of these left so if you're looking for something completely different then this is it!
