Please read the description all the way to the end so you know exactly what you're getting! This is not a replica, copy or homage - this is the actual box that was used on screen in the Disney movies and TV shows!

I got this box (I actually have two...more on that later) from a friend of a friend who used to work for Disney at Pinewood Studios. This box was designed, built and used on screen as both an Imperial and Rebel background prop - mostly as a cargo box and also used to store light sabers and the storm troopers phasers
Provenance
The chap we bought this from was employed by Disney and worked on many of the more recent films and TV Series at Pinewood so these have appeared in various productions of the franchise. At the end of filming of one of the later series he asked the producer if he could have two of them to store his wine bottles in. The producer said yes but obviously, with something like this which was gifted as a favor they weren't going to mess about with certificates of authenticity, it was never supposed to he sold to the public - he just stuck them in his car and took them home!
Now...this is where it gets tricky. He can't remember which scenes this was used in. Only that they were seen being carried in the background, sat on by the actors. Also, light sabers (also phasers) were taken out of them at some point. You'll have to basically watch all the recent films and TV series to work out when and where they feature! I started watching but there are too many - its a good excuse to watch the whole lot again from scratch!
The box is too odd an item to forge - who would even bother with something this unusual! This is what makes it such a collectors piece. Not everyone can afford a genuine light saber or stormtroopers helmet for $500,000 but you can own something that featured on screen in the greatest movie franchise in history for a reasonable price
Details
Great design...they've basically taken a wooden chest and custom covered it in sheet metal (I can't be certain if it steel or aluminum but its quite heavy). What really sets it off is the way they've done the riveting - very Star Warsy! Obviously, a lot of thought went into the design of these to make them as non-earthlike as possible. Pic with Coke can is to give you an idea of the size

Condition
Generally Very good! All rivets, hinges are present and work exactly as they should. Definitely an actual usable piece if you wanted to store things inside. However, the catch was damaged on set and the bottom part is missing. You could either leave it as it is to preserve Provenance or you can just get a new one (these are commercially available for about £10 and it would take about three minutes to fit - screw holes are already there)
As mentioned I have two of these...the other one is mint and complete so a £100 more. I've listed it separately for less but if you want them both then get in touch - I'm sure we can come to a fair arrangement. Last pic is of both of them but obviously, this sale is just for the one in the rest of the photos.
Pricing
Wow - this is hard! It's not easy to price something like this...Star Wars props go for crazy prices. I've tried to keep the price as low and fair as possible but if you're reading this then you'll already know that I've most likely massively underpriced them (eg a pair of jedi gloves from an extra recently sold for £2600 - this box is a much better item!). I know what I paid so don't want to be greedy. If you're looking for a genuine piece of Star Wars history then you wont find anything else that's as cheap as this - grab a bargain (if you're a dealer you'll quadruple your investment really quickly!)
