This is a seriously high-quality piece, combining traditional British country jacket styling with a few of Paul Smith's distinctive designer touches. It's a classic, timeless design that will look just as good in ten years as it does today!
We sell thousands of Paul Smith pieces, mostly from previous seasons, which is how we're able to offer such substantial discounts on the original retail prices.
The jacket is made from a beautifully finished, heavyweight-feeling waxed cotton fabric, designed to provide protection against wind and rain. It's waterproof, with a cleverly concealed fold-away hood, storm collar and storm cuffs to provide additional protection when the weather turns nasty.
It also has some lovely traditional details, including practical bellows pockets and a combination zip and snap-button fastening.
Please note that this is an unlined, single-layer jacket. The outer surface is waxed, while the interior is simply the reverse of the cotton fabric. It's therefore relatively lightweight and isn't designed to provide the warmth of a thick, insulated winter coat.
It's ideal for a typical British autumn day or a milder winter evening, particularly with a jumper underneath. The emphasis here is on weather protection, practicality and classic styling rather than heavy insulation.
