England Gerrard 2007 Shorts No 4 Home Umbro Match Worn England v Brazil Friendly
Thanks for looking
Very rare opportunity to own a genuine piece of football history!
This is the pair of shorts worn by Steven Gerrard for the England v Brazil friendly in 2007.
The shorts in the photos are the pair you'll recieve. They're part of the home strip, made by Umbro and obviously, have only been used once
Authenticity
We live in Southport not far from Anfield. Gerrard at the time lived in Formby (halfway between Southport and Liverpool) so over the years we have purchased loads of signed shirts, photos and other memerobelia from players of the club (I've been a professional business seller online for 15 years so we've had hundreds of LFC items over the years!). Obviously, the shirt that was part of this kit is where the real value is - that was framed and sold through a specialist auctioneer ages ago). The shorts though are always a bit of an oddity. They're a one off just like the shirt but there's far less demand so nowhere near as valuable. Will still make a fine addition to any collection. Please check my other listings (and what we've sold recently) to confirm we don't sell duds! Have recently sold signed Alonso and Finnan shirts, a signed ball (2012 team) along with plenty of rare, older shirts. We're always getting new LFC stock in as there are many fans locally who won/bought items at charity auctions - they tend to keep them for a few years then we buy them up.
A couple of other points - England drew the match, it was only a friendly and one of the worst England teams in recent history (McLaren - the wally with the brolley - was manager) - if we were going to sell fakes I wouldn't have picked one from this match which is worth a lot less than a proper qualifier. Secondly, the shorts are obviously from the 2007 kit and were printed at the time of manufacture. Adult men simply do not buy a full kit with the player numbers on them (kids do, not adults). These are an adult pair if XL - if they weren't genuine the only time I could have got them is if I bought a pair 18 years ago, had them printed with the No 4, then waited - a whole 18 years - before listing them. It's a terrible plan and frankly I don't have the patience or the foresight to try something like that (also, the shorts were £25 at the time. Another £10 to get the number printed. I'm selling at £50 which would mean I'd made a massive 70 pence profit per year for my master plan! Doesn't make sense!
If you're reading this then I doubt you'll be interested but I have a load of signed Everton stuff due to go live soon on here - if you know anything evertonian they might want a look.
