Olympus MJU-1 Camera AF 35mm Zoom Switches On - Untested Read Description

Please take a couple of minutes to read the description all the way to the end as this camera appears to be partially working but I haven't tested it fully. It switches on and tye zoom works but I haven't put film in it.
I'm a long standing business seller on here - we sell all sorts of stuff but mainly designer clothing. I picked this camer up as a punt because it's in good cosmetic condition and I know the MJU can be worth well over £150 if working.
Got it home, battery dead so I bought a new battery. Now...I'm not a camera guy but I know there are a lot of you out there who fix up these wonderful old models. This is what happened:
Put the new battery in (battery bay is clean and clear of rust/corrosion). When opened the flash popped up, display comes on with the flashing E so no power issues (apparently it could be something as simple as the cheap battery I bought!). There's no film in there so as far as I can tell this is normal. Pressed the shutter button, flash works. Tested the zoom - all works fine.
Potential issues:
1) I'm not sure if the flash is supposed to pop up on its own
2) that flashing E could be a number of things. Anything from no film installed to other problems - could be anything, I got lost in the list of why the E could be flashing!
Having checked online, to fully test it I'd need to get film, install, take pics and then get them developed just to find out if there is a problem or not! As mentioned, I'm not a camera expert and this isn't my main line of business so I don't want to begin going down that rabbit hole...best left to someone who knows what they're doing.
So - I'm selling this as spares or repair only with no returns. Pricing has been difficult as other spares have sold from anything between £25 - £180 for untested ones! (The one that sold for £180 must have been some weird rare model, most seem to sell for around £50 - 70 in this condition). I've priced it at £40 so I break even - once you've tested/fixed it you should be able to quadruple your investment.
Nb - the camera in the pics is the one that you'll recieve. Could do with a clean but no cracks in the casing, all buttons present and appear to work
