Great opportunity to own a genuine piece of history. This is an English Oil Lamp from around 1880 - still in working order after well over a century behind it! Nb - this is an original Victorian oil lamp - not a modern reproduction
The Oil Lamp in the pics is the one that you'll recieve. As you can see it's in outstanding condition. There are no cracks or scuffs on the oil well. The Hand Painted design is still as crisp and clear as the day it was painted. The base is cast Iron so has naturally developed a beautiful patina over the last hundred and forty years but the floral embossed details are still very clear.
Obviously, what makes this Lamp stand out from the rest is the colour of the glass oil well. It's a gorgeous turquoise blue which will really stand out in any room. The Hand painted orange flowers really set the whole piece off - it looks magnificent.
Height is 14 inches.
One thing this doesn't have is the glass chimney. I've had a look on eBay and you can get replacements from £10. They come in all colours (or clear) so rather than me buying one myself I think it'll be better if you choose one yourself (personally I think clear (which is what the original would have been), turquoise or orange will work well with the base but Obviously that's your call). As you'll be getting the chimney yourself I've knocked off £20 on the pice to cover the cost.
