The typewriter in the photos is the one that you'll recieve. As you can see it's in excellent cosmetic condition but there are a few issues with this so it'll need a service to get it back to full working order. Please take a couple of minutes to read the description all the way to the end - no returns on this item so I'd rather you were absolutely clear about what your buying!

This is the Olivetti Dora mechanical typewriter - this example was built in Italy in (I think) 1969. A very advanced mid level portable machine in its day. It's a beautiful piece of industrial art as it is so it would make a grrat display item in any shop, club or in the right house. If you get it working these old typewriters are really fun to play around with too.
Condition
This is the important part!
Cosmetically, it's very good all keys are present and seem to be working fine. The carriage moves one space every type you type so mechanically it appears to be fine.
The problem is the spring on the carriage return - it works but is slow (I've sold loads of typewriters over the years so know yhis is the problem) so it's not actually broken and there are no missing parts but it needs to be serviced properly. This means taking it apart and oiling that spring so it work properly. Once that's done it will work perfectly.
I was actually going to "have a go" and try to do this myself but then I remembered I'm not an engineer and would most likely end up doing more harm than good!
Nb - you'll also need to get a ribbon (£4 on ebay) and the case isn't present.
Trending price for a fully tested, fully functional Dora is between £50 - £70. This one is obviously far from perfect and will need some work to make it pristine so I'm only asking £19 (+ shipping). If you're a tinkerer or just looking for a display item this is a very good, cheap alternative.
As mentioned above, it's being sold as a non operational unit. The price is so low its not worth messing about with returns so sold as seen. No returns in this item! (Sorry!)
