Garrard SP25 Turntable Record Player Mark IV - Working Needs Stylus
Thanks for looking
If you're reading this then you'll already know exactly what you're looking at.
Please take a couple of moments to read the description all the way to the end as this needs some work - it is currently non-functional
The turntable in the photos is the one that you'll recieve. As you can see it's still in very good cosmetic condition. It's a Garrard SP25 Mk IV - much better than most on the market at the time of release
I'm a professional business seller on here and buy up a lot of rare and older electronics which I generally get fixed and then sell online. I use a guy who's been doing repairs for fifty years to do the work but unfortunately, he's recently decided to retire - so I have a stack of 70's - 00'S audio and video high end machines that all only need minor repairs. I hand pick each machine we buy and always choose the best pieces. His retirement has left me in something of a pickle!
This model in fully tested and working condition is worth well over £150
Now...as my repair guy has retired I was going "have a go" and fix it myself then suddenly remembered I'm not an engineer and definitely don't know what I'm doing! So rather than opening it up, start messing about with it and probably doing more damage than good I've decided to leave it to someone who can do a proper job. My main line is vintage Levi's (have a look at my other listings!) So I don't have the time to learn how to fix it. Definitely one for a tinkerer or one who knows how these machines work. Could be a fun project if it's for yourself or provide a healthy profit if you're a dealer and looking to sell it on.
This definitely needs a new stylus (see pic - it's missing). I've checked and you can get a replacement for £10 on eBay (again - see pic). All speeds on the turntable work fine and the auto function works fine. However, as the turntable spins there's a slight scraping sound so it'll need to be opened and whatever it's catching on needs to be sorted. I suspect it's a really easy fix for someone who knows what they're doing - I am the opposite of that so will leave it to you.
There are no cosmetic issues whatsoever with the machine. All buttons, switches etc are present and working. There are a few scuffs and a crack on lid - nothing you wouldn't expect from a machine this old. It looks like it has a new/modern speaker connection fitted recently which is good news (last owner must have done this).
Overall, it's a superior level turntable, once you've fixed it you'll have quite a machine on your hands!

Shipped within 24H tracked and signed. Obviously this is a large and very heavy item so we'll pad and box it very carefully. Don't worry - we won't use hermes/evri as they'd definitely destroy or 'accidentally lose' such a rare and expensive item with a good resale value... Will be shipped via Parcelforce so you know it'll definitely arrive on time and in one piece!
International trade welcome through ebays global shipping program
Professional, reliable and honest seller - please check my feedback - lots of happy clients! We ship approximately 200 items weekly so buy with confidence. Normally, I accept returns on all our items but I've been completely honest about the condition of this. It's VERY heavy so I don't want to mess about with return shipping on this - so no returns in this one (sorry!) - sold as seen. We've been selling successfully online for over 15 years now so must be doing something right!
Peace & Good luck!
