Thanks for looking

If you're reading this then you'll already know exactly what you're looking at.

The Fender Gemini II has now reached legendary status in the guitar world. Originally released in the early 80's they're renowned for their deep tones and unique styling - a great instrument that has aged beautifully over the decades. Fender are  now releasing modern versions of the old classics - you're looking at an original 80's example.

Rather than me going on about how brilliant it is please see what other owners think - the Gemini II has something of a cult following so there are loads of reviews online and plenty of videos on YouTube if you want to see one in action. Fender put an awful lot of time and effort when designing this. Originally, it was a mid-priced intermediate model but over time, and now that the market has been flooded with cheap junk it's definitely moved up a few brackets and is now regarded as high-end!

I've done some research on this and am pretty sure it's an early 80's example, built in Korea then exported to the USA. It's now found its way to England and is looking for a new owner who will use and appreciate it properly. I can't be certain of the exact year - had a look at the Fender Museum site and there's about four different years it could be. I've included a pic of the sticker with the serial number so might be worth checking. It has all the features you'd expect from a high-end guitar designer and despite being over forty years old it retains the melodic tones you'd expect from Fender.

Difficult to price as smashed ones sell for around £100 all the way up to about £600 for a mint one. This example is very good with a few cosmetic marks on the body so I've kept the price as low as possible. Even at this low price it's still not a cheap item so if you need any additional pics let me know. I'd rather you were absolutely certain about everything before you make a decision.

Nb - the guitar in the photos  is the one that you'll recieve. As you can see it's in completely unmolested condition. All parts are original with no replacements and it has some sctratches on the varnish.

Condition

Very good condition considering its great age. It has all the original parts present. Machine heads, bridge etc all present and working. I've put on a brand new set of Ernie Ball Earthwood lights when testing it - everything works and as you'd expect from Fender it holds the tone perfectly (you might also want some heavier strings on this too - they'd bring out the deeper tones better).

Structurally, it's still perfect. No cracks in the body or neck which is usually the big issue with these old acoustics. The neck is straight and true. Machine heads work fine. Bridge is good.

Cosmetically, it's as you'd expect from any older acoustic. There are a few scratches on the body and back (only skin deep on the varnish). Fretboard is fine. I guess you could re-varnish it if you want it looking back to brand new (personally, I think it looks better with this slightly weathered look - it shows the history of the instrument but each to their own!).
