If you're reading this then you'll already know exactly what you're looking at.

Please read the description all the way to the end - this is not a cheap, throwaway item so I'd like you to be fully aware of everything before you make a decision.

The turntable in the photos is the one that you'll recieve.

This is the incredibly rare Marantz Model 6100 turntable released in 1978. A very highly regarded model fifty years ago it still holds its own against most modern equivalents. The 6100 has something of a cult following so there's loads of info on the turntable online and some good videos on YouTube if you want to see one in action....definitely worth a look.

We purchase interesting objects from around the country and sell them on to collectors and enthusiasts worldwide (see my other 2000 listings and feedback!). When I bought this I was assured by the seller that it is fully working but there were a few issues. Once opened I noticed there was no belt so we got a brand new one. Luckily, we have a local engineer who's worked on old turntables for forty years so I booked it in for a full test. All switches and buttons are present and work perfectly. He recommended I get a new cartridge too as the old one was on its last legs. Rather than getting a like-for-like replacement I've bought a superior Audio Technica model (see details in pics section). To avoid any damage I'll ship this in its original packaging - ten second job to install it) All other parts are original (obviously, apart from the belt and cartridge!) - it even still has the original weight on the arm. He said it could probably do with a deep clean - it's a bit grubby - but other than that everything works exactly as it should. Just install the cartridge, plug it into your Amp and you're good to go!

Condition

Very good cosmetic condition. Plate and Marantz mat present - all switches present and everything turns and moves exactly as it should. As you'd expect with any older turntable there are some scratches and there's a crack on the dust lid (apparently if you use automotive turtle wax/tcut most of these will disappear apart from the crack). I've given it a basic clean for the photos but it could definitely do with a deep clean to bring out the colours on the wooden casing and aluminium/steel fittings (it's also probably dusty inside) and get it back to looking pristine.

Pricing

Good, fully complete, fully working examples like this with all the original parts present are hard to come by. There are only two others available on the market (at time of writing). One is £600, the other is £900! (Yes...really!). Whilst this one is working it will need a cleanup so I've knocked £150 off the price of the cheaper one. You can buy a broken one for around £260 but good luck with finding parts....you'll need it! Even if you do find them they're not cheap (the mat alone is £100! Again - yes really!)

Shipped within 24H tracked and signed. Very heavy and delicate item so it will be well padded and double boxed before shipping with Parcelforce (don't worry, we don't use hermes/evri who would take great delight in either smashing or 'accidentally losing' such a rare object with a good resale value!)

International trade welcome through ebays global shipping program
